The names of Confederate legends Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson, Robert E. Lee, and Turner Ashby once again adorn the fronts of school buildings in Shenandoah County, Virginia, after local residents democratically overthrew the Marxist school board that changed the names in 2020, forcing a re-vote and the eventual restoration of Stonewall Jackson High School and Ashby-Lee Elementary School.

National File recently reported on the 5-1 Shenandoah County School Board vote that ordered the names of Confederate Virginians Jackson, Lee, and Ashby to be returned to their rightful status and now, work crews in Shenandoah County have done just that, re-affixing signs that read “Stonewall Jackson High School” and “Ashby-Lee Elementary School” to the fronts of their respective buildings.

The renaming marks the first known name-change reversal in the United States since 2020 when law-abiding citizens all over the country were locked in their homes and prevented from lobbying their governing bodies against erasing history; all while violent communists and anti-White radicals were permitted to burn, loot, murder, and tear down historical monuments.

“The schools were renamed in 2020 when the sitting school board decided to cave to the pressure of leftist activists and ignore the will of the residents, who were overwhelmingly against the changes,” Grayson Jennings, a spokesman with the Virginia Flaggers, told National File.

“In the wake of that decision, a grassroots coalition worked diligently over the past four years to vote out each member who voted for the change, one by one, and run candidates who were willing to undo the wrong,” Jennings went on.

“It took them four years and two election cycles, but their hard work and perseverance paid off with a resounding victory, which should serve as an example and inspiration to all Southerners. It’s past time to get to work and take back what has been stolen from us, and restore what has been lost, starting in my hometown,” concluded Jennings, who is himself a graduate of Lee-Davis High School in Mechanicsville, VA, which had its name changed in 2020 and its Confederate mascot replaced by a cultureless clip-art cartoon – against the will of students and area residents alike.

As mentioned, Shenandoah County is far from the only locale that quickly changed school and place names under the pressure of race radicals and opportunistic leftists, and it’s not even the only county in Virginia that erased General Stonewall Jackson’s name from a high school.

In northern Virginia’s Prince William County, Stonewall Jackson High School was renamed “Unity Reed High School” in honor of the school’s black former security guard, when the district announced that it could “no longer represent the Confederacy in our schools.”

However, according to recent polling data compiled by Potomac Local News, 65.31% of local poll respondents “support restoring Stonewall Jackson High School’s original name, citing the preservation of history as a reason for their choice.”

FIGHT BACK: Virginia School Board Restores Confederate School Names https://nationalfile.com/fight-back-virginia-school-board-restores-confederate-school-names/ Sun, 12 May 2024 12:05:00 +0000 https://nationalfile.com/?p=69267 Last Updated on May 12, 2024

Virginia’s Shenandoah County School Board has drawn international headlines after it voted by a 5 to 1 margin to restore the Confederate names of two schools in the county, which were changed amid the BLM color revolution of 2020.

On the 161st anniversary of Confederate General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson’s wartime death, the Shenandoah County, Virginia School Board voted to restore the names of Ashby-Lee Elementary School (named for Confederate partisan Turner Ashby, and General Robert E. Lee), as well as Stonewall Jackson High School.

While Lee commanded the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia, Ashby and Jackson alike commanded troops from the Shenandoah Valley, a region of Virginia that, after initially opposing secession, became one of the South’s biggest hotbeds of Confederate activity, with citizens of the area horrified by then-US President Abraham Lincoln’s call for troops to move into the Deep South, and suppress the seven states that had already seceded.

After Lincoln made that call, the “Upper South” seceded from the Union, led by Virginia, which was quickly followed by Arkansas and North Carolina, and eventually, Tennessee.

Throughout the war, the Shenandoah Valley region, centered around Shenandoah County, became known as “The Breadbasket of the Confederacy,” and it became the target of ruthless northern military campaigns.

When Union General and future President Ulysses S. Grant ordered northern troops into the region, he instructed them to “eat out Virginia clear and clean,” and to so thoroughly destroy the landscape “that crows flying over it for the balance of this season will have to carry their provender with them.”

Demonstrating the massive community support for the name restoration, the cost of rebranding the schools to their former glory will be covered by private donors, as opposed to the taxpayers.

According to a blog post from The Virginia Flaggers:

The motion passed via a 5-1 vote with Kyle Gutshall casting the only NO vote.
The exact language of the motion that was approved was: “I move that the names of Stonewall Jackson High School and Ashby Lee Elementary School be restored to the schools now named Mountain View High School and Honey Run Elementary School respectively. The funds required to implement the restoration must be provided by private donations exclusively and not be borne by the school system or government tax funds, though the SCPS will oversee disbursements relating to restoration costs.”

As mentioned, the school names were originally changed in 2020, as the then-Democrat-dominated state government, led by disgraced ex-Governor Ralph “Blackface” Northam, pushed local school divisions to rename institutions named not only for Confederates, but for anyone, including the Founding Fathers, deemed “racist” by 21st-century communists and race radicals.

The 2020 name change process was slammed by Shenandoah County residents and school officials alike as “undemocratic and unfair,” and over the past few years, thousands of Shenandoah County citizens have petitioned the board to restore the names.

As National File reported in 2022:

A petition to restore the schools’ historic names is now circulating in the community and has been signed by over 4,000 people, leading the school board, which has three first-term members following recent elections, to take the issue up for consideration. At least one board member has been openly receptive to the idea, while Vice Chair Dennis Barlow has criticized the name-change process as “undemocratic and unfair.

At a [2022] board meeting, citizens of Shenandoah County packed the meeting room to advocate for the restoration of American history, with speakers reminding all present of the central role the county and its surrounding region of the Shenandoah Valley played in the Civil War. One speaker recounted the story of how General Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson earned his nickname while in command of men from the Shenandoah Valley at the First Battle of Manassas, remarking that while other areas can debate the relevance of Confederate names and mascots, Shenandoah County has a unique historical tie to the Civil War and the Confederacy that cannot be replicated.

“There stands Jackson like a stone wall, rally behind the Virginians,” the speaker recounted Confederate General Bernard Bee saying of Jackson and his men at the First Battle of Manassas, going on to detail the moment in history’s deep connection to Shenandoah County and the name of one of its high schools.

“The guys that stood on that hill with Stonewall Jackson that day, at the top of the Henry House hill, were the boys from Shenandoah County,” the speaker said, going on to detail that 52 men from the area “gave the full measure of devotion that day, on that hill,” and in the process, “they won a name for that guy.”

“That name belongs to Shenandoah County,” he said.

LGBT Lobby Praises Glenn Youngkin for Codifying Gay ‘Marriage’ in Virginia https://nationalfile.com/lgbt-lobby-praises-glenn-youngkin-for-codifying-gay-marriage-in-virginia/ Fri, 15 Mar 2024 12:48:34 +0000 https://nationalfile.com/?p=68164 Last Updated on March 15, 2024

The LGBT lobby is praising Virginia GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin for his decision to sign Democrat-sponsored legislation that codifies gay “marriage” in Virginia. The legislation runs counter to an already-existing amendment in the state’s constitution defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman, which was approved by a majority of Virginia voters in a 2006 referendum and has never been successfully repealed, even after being struck down by the U.S. Supreme Court.

At the close of Virginia’s 2024 legislative session, GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin signed Democrat-sponsored HB174 in law, which enshrines gay “marriage” into the Code of Virginia and marks yet another Republican-allowed advancement of LGBTism in the Old Dominion.

It also marks just the latest instance of Governor Glenn Youngkin groveling to the LGBT lobby, which is quite the opposite of what he was elected to do, amid a parental rebellion and culture war sparked by the indoctrination of schoolchildren with LGBT ideology, and the transgender serial rapes of female public school students in Loudoun County.

Youngkin’s approval of the legislation has been hailed by the LGBT lobby, with Narissa Rahaman, of Equality Virginia, a gay pressure group, praising Youngkin to the media in saying “Two years into his term, Governor Youngkin has shown leadership and inclusivity, and has finally listened to his constituents with his signing of HB174.”

Related: GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin Hosts ‘Pride Month’ Reception at State Capitol

Pro-family groups have blasted Youngkin’s signing of HB174, including the Family Foundation of Virginia, which called Youngkin’s signing of the pro-gay bill a “major disappointment.”

In a post to the group’s website, the Family Foundation warned that “HB 174 will jeopardize conscience and religious protections for those who officiate weddings, and it further embeds the dangerous and false notion that ‘sex’ and ‘gender’ are separate categories of human identity.”

Showing how rapidly the general public was PsyOp’d into supporting gay “marriage” and other causes of LGBTism, in 1997, the Virginia State Senate passed the Affirmation of Marriage Act by a vote of 37-3, while the House of Delegates approved the legislation by a vote 81-8. The Affirmation of Marriage Act, which was signed into law by then-Governor George Allen, banned Virginia from recognizing gay “marriages” or unions performed in other states or jurisdictions.

Several years later, in 2004, the Virginia General Assembly voted by huge margins once again to reject the LGBT agenda, passing legislation to ban Civil Unions or other contractual agreements that were being issued to homosexuals at the time, so that they could pretend to be married.

The Virginia State Senate supported that legislation by a margin of 28-10, and the House of Delegates approved it in a vote of 77-21.

And then, in 2006, a majority of Virginians voted to ban gay “marriage” by way of a constitutional amendment defining marriage as a union between a man and a woman. The amendment has never been repealed, and remains in Virginia’s constitution, despite multiple pieces of legislation passed and signed by both Democrats and Republicans in recent years, which have sought to chip away at any sense of normalcy that remains.

Virginia’s constitutional amendment banning gay “marriage” was struck down by the Supreme Court in 2014, after two lesbians moved to Virginia and tried in vain to obtain a marriage license, for the sole purpose of filing a lawsuit backed by the gay lobby that would eventually make it to the Supreme Court and result in gay “marriage” being legalized nationwide, a ruling that is widely believed, including by sitting members of the Supreme Court, to have been unconstitutional.

Despite the court’s ruling, multiple efforts by Democrat legislators to repeal the amendment from Virginia’s Constitution have failed, and the amendment remains intact.

U. of Virginia Janitors Left Behind While DEI Administrators ‘Earn’ Six-Figure Salaries https://nationalfile.com/u-of-virginia-janitors-left-behind-while-dei-administrators-earn-six-figure-salaries/ Thu, 07 Mar 2024 14:01:37 +0000 https://nationalfile.com/?p=67714 Last Updated on March 7, 2024

The University of Virginia, a public school that’s long been a bastion of leftism, is paying Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion administrators six-figure salaries with taxpayer dollars, while the housekeeping staff is paid what could barely be described as sustenance wages.

The University of Virginia is spending upwards of $20 million a year to pay its numerous Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion administrators and employees, with the school’s “Global Chief Diversity Officer,” Martin Davidson, raking in nearly $600,000 to promote Bolshevik views on race.

According to an investigative report from OpenTheBooks.com, the University of Virginia is employing at least 235 people under its DEI department, including 82 students. The investigation determined that each year, at least $15 million in cash which, because UVA is a public school, comes from the taxpayers, is funneled into the pockets of DEI department employees, while another $5 million is paid into their benefits.

The bloated salaries of the University of Virginia’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion employees offer up a stark contrast to what the school is paying its housekeeping staff. Considering the cost of living in Charlottesville, Virginia, where the school is located, these employees are being paid what could barely be considered sustenance wages.

According to publicly available data on UVA employee salaries, housekeepers at the school are earning wages well below $40,000 a year.

Housekeepers at the University of Virginia are making far less than $40k a year while DEI employees rake in six-figure salaries to whine about race. The screenshot above has been cropped to remove the names of housekeeping staff.

These salaries are being paid to housekeepers in a city where the average one-bedroom apartment costs well over $1,000 a month.

According to numerous online search engines that show the average cost of rent in the Charlottesville area, people can expect to pay upwards of $1,300 a month for a one-bedroom apartment, and roughly $1,600 a month for a two-bedroom unit.

Video: John McGuire Pledged Not to Primary Bob Good, Now He’s Doing Just That https://nationalfile.com/video-john-mcguire-pledged-not-to-primary-bob-good-now-hes-doing-just-that/ Fri, 23 Feb 2024 13:53:58 +0000 https://nationalfile.com/?p=67362 Last Updated on February 23, 2024

In video footage obtained by National File, Virginia State Senator John McGuire, pledged to voters that he would NOT run in the 5th Congressional District’s GOP Primary against incumbent Rep. and Freedom Caucus Chairman Bob Good, but now he’s doing exactly that.

The video footage obtained and published by National File is from late 2023 when John McGuire was running for his current seat in the Virginia State Senate. McGuire was pointedly asked by a voter if he would be willing to “pledge to not run against Bob Good next year” in the 2024 elections.

“Bob Good’s done a great job,” McGuire replied. “He’s a true conservative and we need more of ’em. And I’m a true conservative, and I think, you know, we should work together.”

“My pledge to you is I’m running for the Virginia State Senate and I’m gonna support Bob Good’s re-election,” McGuire said.

Now, just months later, McGuire has announced his run for Congress against Rep. Good, despite only taking office in the Virginia State Senate on January 10th, 2024.

The run for Congress in the 5th District is only McGuire’s latest campaign for federal office, having previously run for Congress in Virginia’s 7th District, though he did not win the GOP nomination.

McGuire has a lengthy track record of securing seats in the state legislature and then trying (unsuccessfully) to climb the ladder. He’s run for a whopping 6 offices in just 5 years.

Watch the Full Video Below:

In an email sent out by Friends of John McGuire, the candidate’s position on Kevin McCarthy and the GOP establishment was made abundantly clear, as the email blasted Rep. Good for helping spearhead the historic effort to remove Kevin McCarthy from the speakership last year.

In the email, Rep. Good’s actions surrounding the McCarthy speakership were grossly mischaracterized.

“Our current Congressman voted for Kevin McCarthy to be Speaker, then threw a temper tantrum, reversed himself, and allowed the party to fall into chaos, costing us the 2023 elections,” the email reads.

It completely failed to mention the fact that Rep. Good held out on voting for McCarthy until he agreed to remove Nancy Pelosi’s House Rules and bring back the single-member Jeffersonian Motion to Vacate. Good and others who made this happen, assured that when Kevin McCarthy went sideways, he could be gotten rid of.

The email went on to bizarrely blame the removal of Kevin McCarthy for Republican losses in Virginia’s 2023 elections and then blasted Good for not being pro-war enough and doing enough for Israel, while parroting debunked Israeli propaganda claims about the 10/7 Hamas raid on southern Israel.

Trump Curse: Restaurant That Kicked Out Sarah Sanders Closes Doors https://nationalfile.com/trump-curse-restaurant-that-kicked-out-sarah-sanders-closes-doors/ Wed, 22 Nov 2023 15:45:41 +0000 https://nationalfile.com/?p=64933 Last Updated on November 22, 2023

The Red Hen, a Lexington, Virginia restaurant that became known to many as the “Commie Cluck” after its owner barred Trump Administration Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family from eating there, is closing its doors, apparently becoming just the latest left-wing icon to fall victim to the infamous Trump Curse.

The owners of Lexington, Virginia’s Red Hen restaurant have announced that the business will shutter and a new restaurant with a new name will pop up in its place. The announcement comes several years after The Red Hen faced massive scrutiny for removing Trump Administration Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders and her family from the premises in the middle of their meal after triggered left-wing employees called the restaurant’s left-wing owner, Stephanie Wilkinson, requesting that she take action to remove the family from their midst.

At the time, Wilkinson told The Washington Post that she felt that she’d arrived at “the moment in our democracy when people have to make uncomfortable actions and decisions to uphold their morals.”

After the removal of the Huckabee-Sanders family, The Red Hen became a destination eatery for DC elites and others on the left but lost the support of locals, with Patriots driving in from all over Virginia to picket the restaurant and alert potential customers of The Red Hen’s anti-American “morals”.

Other restaurants with the same name even went out of business thanks to the reputational damage that Wilkinson and her employees had done.

“While we say goodbye to The Red Hen, its core values will live on,” Red Hen chef Matt Adams told the local media in an article announcing The Red Hen’s closure and eventual replacement. “Our ideals, culinary ethics, and the knowledge we have earned will all be present in everything we touch,” he added.

Red Hen Closes

Out of Touch:

When news of the Commie Cluck’s removal of the Huckabee-Sanders family broke, many expressed their surprise that it had happened in such a conservative region, with Lexington sitting in Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, one of the most reliably Republican areas of not just Virginia, but the entire country.

Though Lexington is a small independent city politically dominated by local universities, Rockbridge County, which completely surrounds the city, is deep red and hasn’t supported a Democrat for President since Jimmy Carter narrowly carried it in 1976.

Local election results report that in 2016, 61.88% of the county’s population voted for Donald J. Trump and in 2020, he garnered even more support, raking in 65.37% of the Rockbridge County vote.

It would appear that effectively telling 2/3 of the local population that were no longer welcome at The Red Hen was not the best business decision.

Ukraine-Born Anti-Trump ‘Whistleblower’ Yevgeny Vindman to Run for Congress in VA-7 https://nationalfile.com/ukraine-born-anti-trump-whistleblower-yevgeny-vindman-to-run-for-congress-in-va-7/ Fri, 17 Nov 2023 17:37:13 +0000 https://nationalfile.com/?p=64808 Last Updated on November 17, 2023

Yevgeny “Eugene” Vindman, the Ukrainian-born former NSC advisor who, along with his brother Alex Vindman was at the center of the Trump phone call impeachment sham, has announced that he’ll run for Congress as a Democrat in Virginia’s 7th District, a seat currently held by ex-CIA agent Abigail Spanberger, who says she won’t seek re-election in 2024 as she plans to run for Governor.

Vindman, who was born to a Jewish family in the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic before immigrating to the United States, released a campaign video to X announcing his run for Congress, giving a brief background on himself and his military career and going on to boast of his role in reporting “the infamous phone call” for which President Trump was impeached by Democrats before being completely vindicated by reality.

The ad then features Vindman’s brother and anti-Trump accomplice, Alex Vindman, in what appears to be a staged video call between the two with Yevgeny Vindman informing his brother that he’ll be running for Congress before he again sets his sights on President Trump.

“Trump and MAGA Republicans spread lies, bigotry, and violence,” Vindman claims, parroting run-of-the-mill, hysterical left-wing talking points in a monotoned voice before his wife asks viewers to “vote Vindman for Virginia” in 2024.

Watch the campaign ad below:

Yevgeny “Eugene” Vindman’s announcement of his Democrat campaign for Congress comes just days after incumbent VA-7 Rep. Abigail Spanberger announced that she would not seek re-election and instead plans to run for Governor of Virginia in 2025.

Like Vindman, a former NSC advisor and anti-Trump ringleader, Spanberger, who supported the Vindman-tied phone call impeachment of President Trump, has longstanding ties to the deep state, having previously worked in the CIA.

Deep State Democrat Abigail Spanberger Will Run for VA Governor in 2025 https://nationalfile.com/deep-state-democrat-abigail-spanberger-will-run-for-va-governor-in-2025/ Mon, 13 Nov 2023 16:47:50 +0000 https://nationalfile.com/?p=64578 Last Updated on November 13, 2023

Deep state Democrat Abigail Spanberger, a former CIA agent, will run for Governor of Virginia in 2025 when the Commonwealth holds its next gubernatorial contest. Spanberger says that she won’t seek re-election to Congress in 2024 in preparation for her statewide run. Current Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin is not eligible to run for re-election in 2025, because Virginia Governors may not serve consecutive terms.

Rep. Abigail Spanberger (D-VA-7) officially announced on Monday that she will run for Governor of Virginia in 2025 and will not seek re-election to Congress next year. The announcement comes following reports over the weekend revealing that Spanberger had informed her Democrat colleagues of her plans on Friday.

To announce her run, Spanberger released a video touting her deep state work with the CIA as a reason to elect her Governor, before labeling Virginia parents and pro-life activists as a “fundamental threat” to freedom and democracy.

“Our country and our commonwealth are facing fundamental threats to our rights, our freedoms, and to our democracy,” Spanberger says in the video before footage rolls showing a pro-abortion protest and a news segment about “certain books” being removed from Virginia school curriculum.

Naturally, the ad also included news footage from the January 6th demonstrations and hyped fears of a government shutdown, before Spanberger reaffirmed her support for abortion and the grooming of children, ripping Virginia’s state government for a “focus on banning abortion and books.”

Watch the announcement video below:

CIA Spanberger: In Tight Race, Officials Miraculously Find 15,000 Mostly Dem Votes On USB Flash Drive

It should come as no surprise that Rep. Spanberger centered so much of her gubernatorial campaign announcement around her support for the grooming of children.

Spanberger, who votes for Joe Biden’s agenda 100% of the time in Washington, has been strident in her support of inflicting the LGBT agenda on kids.

Ahead of the 2022 mid-terms, Spanberger was asked during a campaign stop in Orange, Virginia, by this reporter, about her support for the genital mutilation of children in the name of transgenderism.

Rather than answer the question, Spanberger, along with Democrat colleague Jason Crow, hopped into a vehicle and fled the scene, abruptly ending the campaign stop and leaving a bi-partisan group of her constituents hanging.

CONFIRMED: RNC ABANDONS VIRGINIA, AGAIN https://nationalfile.com/confirmed-rnc-abandons-virginia-again/ Fri, 10 Nov 2023 21:17:48 +0000 https://nationalfile.com/?p=64556 Last Updated on November 10, 2023

National File has confirmed that Ronna Romney McDaniel and the Republican National Committee abandoned Virginia Republicans ahead of the state’s 2023 elections, in which the GOP suffered catastrophic losses with Democrats winning control of the state’s House of Delegates and expanding their control over the State Senate.

The Republican National Committee, led by Ronna Romney McDaniel, refused to fund the Republican Party of Virginia as Democrats dumped millions of dollars into the state’s 2023 elections, in which the entire state legislature was up for grabs midway through the term of Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin.

Revelations that the RNC left Virginia Republicans to starve come after Ronna Romney McDaniel blamed Governor Glenn Youngkin and the RPV for the blood bath on election night, telling WMAL host and reporter Larry O’Connor that “We were told in the summer they didn’t need us, that they had all the money and they were good. So, that was a conversation.”

On the contrary, National File has learned from RPV Chairman Rich Anderson that the state party did, in fact, request assistance from the national committee, only to be rejected and told that with donations down and the 2024 presidential race on the horizon, Virginia Republicans were on their own.

“Virginia House of Delegates Speaker Todd Gilbert and I met with senior RNC staffers on October 9th to ask for a transfer of funds from RNC to RPV to simulate what the DNC transferred to the DPVA,” Chairman Anderson told National File.

“Their explanation to me was that it would be difficult to do so because giving is down at the federal level, driven by this not being an election year for them – while they are currently preparing for the costliest federal election cycle (2024) in US history.”

Related: Ronna Romney McDaniel Claims On Video That The RNC Did Not Engage In The Virginia Loss Because Glenn Youngkin Said The RNC Wasn’t Needed

Prior to making his comments to National File, RPV Chairman Anderson joined Larry O’Connor (the reporter who spoke with McDaniel on election night), confirming in that interview as well that Ronna Romney McDaniel and her RNC leadership left Virginia out in the cold.

Making the financial freeze-out from the RNC even worse, Anderson told O’Connor that an early analysis from the Youngkin-aligned Sprit of Virginia PAC has found that Democrats won control of the Virginia General Assembly by a razor-thin margin.

Legislative control, Anderson said, “was decided in this cycle by 1/10th of 1% of 2.3 million votes cast.”

Red Vest Massacre: VA Democrats Win Control of House, Expand Senate Majority, Crippling Glenn Youngkin

Though RPV Chairman Anderson responded to National File and made clear that the RNC refused to help support the state party’s 2023 campaigns, the office of Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin refused to answer when asked if Youngkin personally called off the funds, as McDaniel claims.

It should be noted that Youngkin and his Spirit of Virginia PAC are a separate entity from the Republican Party of Virginia.

When reached by National File for comment, the Governor’s office forwarded the issue directly to the Spirit of Virginia PAC, which refused to provide an answer one way or another as to whether or not Youngkin rejected RNC funds, blaming Democrat spending and the issue of abortion for the loss.

“We knew from the very beginning that we’d be outspent in this election with every national Democrat group pouring millions into the state,” David Rexrode, a Senior Advisor to Governor Glenn Youngkin, told National File.

“Our candidates responded to their negative TV barrage on abortion by showing the Democrat position of ‘no limits’ is too extreme and that Republicans have a commonsense position. But when we are being significantly outspent in the Washington, D.C. media market our message got drowned out. Our candidates needed every resource available and, as the Governor said many times, we couldn’t afford to have anyone sitting on the sidelines if we were to win these close elections in a state Biden won by 10.”

Ronna Romney Says Youngkin Rejected RNC Help in VA Elections, But Scott Presler Says Ronna Refused to Help https://nationalfile.com/ronna-romney-says-youngkin-rejected-rnc-help-in-va-elections-but-scott-presler-says-ronna-refused-to-help/ Fri, 10 Nov 2023 16:54:52 +0000 https://nationalfile.com/?p=64542 Last Updated on November 10, 2023

Ronna Romney McDaniel claimed on the night of the GOP’s catastrophic loss in Virginia that Governor Glenn Youngkin rejected help from the RNC, but conservative activist Scott Presler is saying the exact opposite, reporting that the Republican Party of Virginia requested cash from Ronna and the RNC, but were rejected.

Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel told radio host and reporter Larry O’Connor on election night that the RNC did not assist in Virginia’s 2023 elections because Governor Glenn Youngkin said that the national party wasn’t needed.

As National File reported:

Larry O’Connor, a host on WMAL Radio in Washington, D.C., questioned Ronna McDaniel in the Spin Room for his Townhall stream. O’Connor asked Ronna about the Virginia losses.

“You know the RNC’s not a state committee. We’re a federal committee. Right? Your candidates can take unlimited state dollars and your governor can take unlimited state dollars and he actually said, ‘We don’t need you guys here,’” Ronna McDaniel said, referring to Virginia Republican governor Glenn Youngkin.

Larry O’Connor did an excellent reporting job. O’Connor followed up with: “I just want to clarify one quick thing, though. The RNC had no involvement in these elections in Virginia, per Governor Youngkin’s request?”

“We were told in the summer they didn’t need us, that they had all the money and they were good. So, that was a conversation,” Ronna McDaniel said.

But contrary to the claims of Ronna Romney McDaniel, conservative activist Scott Presler reported in a post he made to X that Republican Party of Virginia Chairman “Rich Anderson requested $ from the RNC” only to have his request denied.

“Meanwhile,” Presler’s post went on, “Joe Biden ordered the DNC in September to pour $1 million into VA.”

“Republicans lost the House & Senate by 2,400 & 1,900 votes, respectively,” he added, highlighting Democrats’ razor-thin new margin of control.

Scott Presler VA RNC

As of yet, it’s unclear exactly which side rejected the other, and National File has not yet received a clear answer on the matter in communications with a representative from the Spirit of Virginia PAC, Glenn Youngkin’s political machine that distributed funds to GOP candidates around the Commonwealth in the 2023 election cycle.

What is clear, however, is that Election Day 2023 was a disaster for the GOP and Glenn Youngkin’s tenure as Governor, with Democrats flipping control of the state’s House of Delegates and expanding their existing majority in the Virginia State Senate, effectively turning Youngkin into a lame duck.
